Working Farm Stay with Animal Encounters in Cheshire
Millmoor Farm Holidays is a working farm where guests can see calves, piglets, lambs, and goats daily. Children are offered opportunities to feed the lambs, collect eggs, and go out with the farmers in the morning. The property includes a lambing shed where guests have watched births, and a communal play area with swing set and big garden.
The property offers 6 self-catering units including the Family Bungalow, Carters Lodge, and the Three-Bedroom House. Each unit has a kitchen, washing machine, and some have balconies overlooking the lamb garden or garden views. Additional comforts include soundproof rooms, underfloor heating in some bungalows, and free on-site parking with accessible parking spaces.
The farm provides a children's playground and kids' outdoor play equipment including small tractors at the far end. Board games and puzzles are available for indoor entertainment. Grocery deliveries can be arranged, and the property offers family rooms and cots for younger guests.
Millmoor Farm is located 27 km from Chester Racecourse and 16 km from Beeston Castle. Guests are within a short drive of Delamere Forest and Chester Cathedral, and 30 minutes from Chester Zoo. The Ice Cream Farm is 20 minutes away, and Manchester Airport is 56 km from the property.
Pets are allowed at the property, with some cottages having enclosed gardens though fencing may allow dogs to get under. Facilities for disabled guests include ground-floor bedrooms and walk-in showers in certain units like The Corn Store bungalow. Private check-in and check-out is offered, and the property provides fire extinguishers for safety.
“The working farm setting comes alive with friendly animals, a genuine highlight for families, while the well-appointed cottages ensure a comfortable, spacious stay. I found the proximity to local attractions and the genuinely warm welcome, often accompanied by thoughtful touches like homemade treats, truly set this place apart. It cultivates a feeling of being right at home.”
