Adults-only cottage in rural Whitby with garden terrace and welcome pack
Hideaway Cottage offers one bedroom and a living room with a private entrance and garden views. The property includes a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a fireplace, along with a TV and a washing machine. Guests have access to free WiFi, free street parking, and board games/puzzles for indoor entertainment.
The cottage is located 8 km from Whitby Abbey and 27 km from Dalby Forest, with Peasholm Park and Scarborough Open Air Theatre within a short drive. Teesside International Airport is 69 km away, making it accessible for travelers. The rural setting offers quiet surroundings, while a bakery, butcher, and deli are within walking distance on the main road.
Hideaway Cottage is an adults-only property, accommodating couples without children. Pets are allowed, subject to the owner's prior agreement, and guests have noted the need for a fence on the back wall to prevent dogs from jumping onto the road. Street parking is available nearby, and fire extinguishers and smoke alarms are installed for safety.
The cottage features a private terrace with outdoor furniture and a garden with seating areas, ideal for afternoon tea in sunny weather. The garden offers a peaceful retreat with views of the surrounding countryside. Guests can enjoy the outdoor furniture on the terrace for meals or relaxation.
A welcome pack with snacks and a bottle of wine is provided upon arrival, adding a personal touch to the stay. The living room includes a fireplace and a TV with limited channels, though guests have suggested adding Netflix or Amazon access. Heating is available, with a boost function that needs manual adjustment, and the cottage is non-smoking throughout.
“Hideaway Cottage presents itself as a genuine home from home, tucked into a peaceful rural setting that still manages to keep the local conveniences within easy reach. I found the thoughtfully appointed interiors, particularly the comfortable bedroom and inviting sitting room, create a truly cozy atmosphere, further enhanced by the wood burner for cooler evenings. It's this blend of quiet seclusion with well-chosen comforts, a stone's throw from the coast and the moors, that truly defines its appeal.”
Hideaway Cottage offers a variety of rooms including double rooms, family rooms, and suites with breakfast, free cancelations, and special deals
