Beautiful Country Cottage in Hayfield, Derbyshire - Peak District Getaway with Garden and Fireplace
Beautiful Country Cottage has a sun terrace, garden, and BBQ facilities for outdoor cooking. Free on-site parking is available, though the laneway parking can be tricky for larger vehicles. The cottage provides private check-in/check-out, key access, smoke alarms, and fire extinguishers.
The cottage offers a three-bedroom house with a fully fitted kitchen, washing machine, and a cosy fireplace with wood burning stove. One double bedroom is accessed through the main bedroom with no door, and the loft bedroom has restricted head height suited for children. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, a large selection of books in the single bedroom, and a great shower.
Located 1.7 km from Sett Valley Trail and 25 km from Manchester Airport, the cottage is in a quiet area with direct walks to Kinder Scout and Hayfield village. The Lantern Pike Inn pub is at the top of the lane and serves good meals, with The George in Hayfield also offering food. A bus stop is nearby, and the area is ideal for walking holidays in the Peak District.
The property welcomes pets and provides a children's playground plus board games and puzzles for indoor entertainment. Steep stairs and the loft bedroom layout should be noted for families with young children or reduced mobility. The cottage also has non-smoking throughout and heating for comfort.
Guests can use the sun terrace, garden, and patio with outdoor furniture for sitting in a sheltered sun trap. BBQ facilities allow for outdoor dining while enjoying views over the fields. The front garden offers a private space to relax after walks.
“Nestled in a truly beautiful Derbyshire setting, this cottage draws you in with its immediate warmth and comfort, evident from the plentiful fuel for the fire to the thoughtfully stocked kitchen. The well-appointed rooms, especially the exceptionally comfortable beds, make for a restful stay, whether you're enjoying quiet moments indoors or stepping out for walks into the surrounding Peak District landscape. It's a place where the thoughtful touches, from excellent toiletries to a great shower, clearly point to a proprietor who understands what makes a country escape feel truly special.”
