Working organic farm B&B in the Cotswolds, 2 miles from Castle Combe
Battens Farm Cottages offers traditional-style country accommodation with log fires, sofas, and views over fields. The property has a tennis court, a squash court, and provides facilities for cycling, fishing, and horse riding. Each cottage features a private bathroom, a living area, and kitchen facilities for self-catering or bed-and-breakfast stays.
Hearty breakfasts are made using the farm's own organic produce when available and delivered to the guest's door. Guests can also use the kitchen facilities and the outdoor seating area with a barbecue. Tea and coffee makers are provided in all rooms, and fresh farm milk is offered on arrival.
The farm is located 11 miles from the Roman spa city of Bath and 2 miles from Castle Combe, the village used to film War Horse. Lacock, used in Harry Potter films, is 4 miles away, and Corsham, used for Poldark, is also 4 miles. The arboretum at Westonbirt and the Badminton horse trials are nearby attractions.
Babysitting and child services are available, and kids' meals can be arranged. Children can see the horses, cows, and chickens on the working farm, and guests are allowed to feed the horses carrots. The cottages are spacious enough for families, and there is a shared lounge and TV area.
Battens Farm is a working organic farm with stable yards and paddocks where horses are kept. Guests can watch farm life from the windows and enjoy the picnic area and valet parking. The property also provides luggage storage and is entirely non-smoking, with free parking on site.
“The working farm setting provides a genuine countryside escape, complete with charming farm animals visible from the cottages. Its convenient location allows for easy exploration of nearby villages, while the thoughtfully appointed spaces ensure comfort. The delivered breakfast is a thoughtful touch, truly enhancing the relaxed atmosphere.”
