The Castle
Amberley Castle is a 900-year-old castle in West Sussex, enclosed by its original medieval walls and retaining a portcullis that lowers at night. The hotel holds 4 AA Red Stars and 3 AA Rosettes for its cuisine, served in the 12th-century Queen's Room with its vaulted ceiling or the Great Room with oak flooring and suits of armour. Guests can climb the ramparts for views across the grounds, which include an 18-hole putting course, a tennis court, and a croquet lawn.
